The Bible

Picture
Christian scripture is organized in a bible. Bible comes from the latin word, “biblia”, which means books. The bible is divided into two sections: The Old Testament & The New Testament. The word testament means “covenant”. The Old Testament is very similar to the Jewish Bible. The New Testament, however, includes biographies of Jesus and apostles, letters to new churches, and an apocalyptic work.

The 10 Commandments

The Ten Commandments were given by God, to Moses. They are God’s core teachings.

I. I am the Lord your God: you shall not have strange gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image.

II. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

III. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day.

IV. Honor your father and mother.

V. You shall not kill.

VI. You shall not commit adultery.

VII. You shall not steal.

VIII. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

IX. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

X. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.
