Slumdog Millionaire is about eighteen year old Jamal Malik who participates in India's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" He is a question away that will change his life from being penniless to millionaire and is being questioned how he is getting every answer right. Determined to find out, the police arrest him because they think he is cheating but in reality he knows all the answers to the questions because of past experiences. In this scene, we see Jamal as a little boy. He is playing with his younger brother when Hindu people come attack the Muslims and their mother is killed. This was around the era where Muslims and Hindus where fighting because of the Hindu temples that are destroyed. At the end of the scene, we see a boy painted in blue with a bow and arrow and hand gesture. The boy that is shown is a young version of Rama-a god.- He represents the ideal man and his weapons represent readiness to destroy evil.

Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts is said that she became interested in Hinduism when she saw a picture of the deity Hanuman. When filming "Eat, Pray, Love" she had the opportunity to go to India and interact with Hindus in their temple. Not only was she interested in Hinduism but she also liked Yoga before she even thought of Hinduism. In 2010, she announced that she believes and practices Hinduism. She also stated, "I have no intention of demeaning any other religion simply because of my fondness for Hinduism. I don't believe in comparing religions or human beings. A comparison is a very mean thing to do. I have received real spiritual satisfaction through Hinduism."

In Cycle 5 of Americas Next Top Model the contestants did a Bollywood themed photo shoot. On the left we have Nicole Linkletter, winner of ANTM Cycle 5. Bollywood would be India's Hollywood. It is the Hindi language film industry, base in Mumbai India. The term is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema; however, it is only a part of the large Indian film Industry, which included the production centers of producing films in multiple languages.
